About EMS Program
The EMS Program is a pioneering initiative by GENDERISE that explores how environmental sustainability, economic resilience, and security interconnect within countries. We focus on how policies and everyday practices affect marginalized communities in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, and Latin America. Our goal is to drive policy reform and community empowerment through integrated research and innovative interventions.
Our Approach
The EMS Program redefines traditional policy frameworks by integrating environmental sustainability, economic resilience, and security. Our approach is rooted in feminist foreign policy and feminist geopolitics, enabling us to uncover hidden inequalities and address the systemic barriers faced by marginalized communities. By linking policy analysis with on-the-ground interventions, we develop inclusive solutions that promote environmental justice, economic stability, and social security.
Focus Areas
-
Policy Integration: Reforming governance to align environmental protection with economic and social security, ensuring that environmental protection aligns seamlessly with economic and social security priorities. This holistic approach fosters sustainable policies that benefit both people and the planet.
-
Data-Driven Insights: By improving data collection methods, we will uncover local disparities and use this information to inform targeted interventions, ensuring that policies are responsive to the unique needs of diverse communities.
-
Inclusive Interventions: By piloting projects in renewable energy, green public transport, and community-led development. These initiatives will empower communities to take charge of their sustainability, promoting long-term resilience.
